I’ve been taking lessons with Paul for a few months now and I couldn’t be happier. Paul made starting the piano later in life seem less daunting and has made himself available at any time for any questions he can help answer or videos he can send. He even came to L&M to help me pick out my first good keyboard when I told him I could use some help finding the right one. Paul has a real passion for music and is delightful to be around. Starting at my age, I wasn’t sure if going to piano lessons was something I would genuinely enjoy or if it would be a means to an end, but since then it’s become a part of my week that I look forward to most and I believe Paul is to thank. Aside from that, He’s an outstanding musical talent and that is pretty clear from day one.

Paul is an amazing teacher! I happened to find him online and, even in our introduction call, he made me feel comfortable and excited to start lessons. I used to play piano as a kid and wanted to try again as an adult. He reviewed old skills with me and introduced new ones, or elaborated more for better understanding. He finds music I'm interested in learning and provides the skills and foundation to be able to play them. I've only been working with him for a few months, and I've seen tremendous growth. He's always encouraging and makes me feel like I can make mistakes and try new things. I could not recommend him more.

Paul is a very dedicated and creative piano instructor. I have been taking classes with Paul for a couple of years now! When i first shared my goal to learn how to improvise(i had classical training in piano as a child) he tailored classes to help me work towards that particular goal. He is always encouraging and motivating. I highly recommend classes with Paul!

Paul is really a gem of a piano teacher! He is classically trained but as a working musician, his skills are highly diverse. He is incredibly inspirational as a teacher and so passionate about music as an individual! We've had a few piano teachers before, but I have to say Paul is one of the best out there! He has been amazing at inspiring our 12 year old daughter, and I was so impressed that I am now also taking lessons from Paul!!

Paul Miyai is a wonderful pianist and a great teacher to boot.  I was forced to learned to piano as a kid by my parents and have never found enjoyment in the art.  Having dropped music for well over 20 years I decided to try and pick it back up.  I found Paul early last winder and we've been having lessons for over 3 months now and I have to say the decision to go with Paul is one of the best I've ever made. He is fun and energetic and every lesson seems to go by in the blink of an eye (for better or worse).  We do our weekly lessons online through Zoom, and despite not being in-person Paul has an incredibly good ear and can quickly help identify and work on mistakes or weaknesses.  I've improved significantly in a surprisingly short time all thanks to him, and I would recommend him to anyone new or returning to piano.

I started taking piano lessons from Paul over three years ago and as an adult it can be very intimidating however that did not happen in the least.  Paul is very professional, patient and understanding when it comes to teaching.  He is an amazing teacher and I have learned so much from him and continue to do so each and every lesson.  I encourage any adults out there who really wanted to play the piano to take lessons from Paul Miyai.  You will not regret it.  Paul deserves 5 stars all the way!

Paul Miyai is very flexible in his approach to me as an adult learner and is always keen to foster the love of playing piano. This means I have been able to choose my style of playing and the pace of learning, which I have found very helpful. He has a versatile background in piano playing which enables this, and it was refreshing to find a teacher not wedded to a specific style or specific learning resources for someone at my stage (beginner). This means I have found it much easier to make progress and I have really enjoyed the lessons.

I learned a lot from Paul. He breaks down complex concepts into simple steps and personalizes the lessons according to my progress and preferences, making the learning process enjoyable.
